It started out very well. In the first game, I started with the first 9. I threw the first one in the 10th flat and left a 4-7. Converted the spae and struck on the last ball to finish with a 278.
The second game I started out with a split, spared in the second frame. Then out of nowhere I started to get a sharp pain in my arm around the elbow. The next three frames were a disaster. I had to fight through the pain, and had a decent finish in the game, to shoot a 157, after only posting 50 in the 5th frame.
I was in trouble. Then one of my teammates gave me some band to put on my arm right below the elbow. It seemed to help. Although I was still having some discomfort, it was something that I could deal with to get through the last game. I ended with a 237 to finish out with a 672 series.
Now I need to see if I will be good to go for Tuesday. I may have to take a week off, because I am still having some pain during certain movements, But it does feel better then it did yesterday. So we'll take it one day at a time. I would of posted last night, but we had 4" of sleet last night, and I was out in the snow plow, and 2 days ago, it was 79 degrees here. Gotta love March weather
The bowling gods were not kind to me tonight. Practice seemed to go pretty well. I seemed to be lined up, but then the game started.
Game 1: What a disaster. I shot my lowest game of the year, a big 148 game. So much for my 213 average. Everything that could go wrong, did. The ball would under react, and then when I made an adjustment, it would over react. I left three splits and just couldn't seem to get anything going. I was glad when the game was over.
Game 2: This game started out pretty well. The adjustments plus a ball change seemed to be working. I was looking good as I had a 108 after 5 frames. Then the bottom fell out of that game as well. I didn't throw a single strike on the last five frames. I still had a shot at a 209 game, but I needed to strike out. But the first ball I threw in the tenth, I left the Greek Church, and fell to a 187. Not the way I wanted to end the game, but considering the first game. I will take it.
Game 3: I changed my line again, looking for anything that would get me in the game. At this point, I was bowling for pride. I let the team down that I was subbing for, so I needed to show them that I really did know how to bowl. I started the game off with a solid 7 pin (ouch). But I was feeling better about how I threw that shot. Then the strikes started to show up, and I still had a shot, though remote, at a 600 series. Well, I gave myself a chance, by throwing every shot in the pocket. I just had a few bad breaks. And I finished the game off the way I started off. I left another 7 pin (ouch) in the 10th, and finished with a 238. A 573 series. With how I started the night off, I was happy with the outcome. And tomorrow is my league night, so I get to do this all over again. Hopefully, the outcome is a little better
Well, not the best of nights. I only shot a 615 with games of 216, 177, 222. The shot was very erratic tonight. The right lane had a very big hang spot. Everyone was having trouble on that lane, so I wasn't alone. At first I used two different balls and two different lines, but That only lasted about 7 frames and then the shot on the right lane changed again with the carry down. The second game was a total crap shoot. Just when I thought I had the lanes figured out, I left a flush pocket 7-10 to start the tenth frame. Killed a 200 game. In the third game, 9 spare was the order, until I tried a shot deeper then I have played all year. I started playing the tenth board off the left side, (I'm right handed), and the ball started to set up nicely. I threw a triple. then got one to far outside the line and threw a split to break up the game, then I struck out in the tenth to finish with a 222. We took three games, so it wasn't all that bad. Win as a team, lose as a team. That is what we say every week, and we beat the first place team, so all in all, it was a good night. Keep on bowling, and have fun.
Well, I was on the doorstep tonight (Thursday). I shot a 299 in my first game. I left a stone ten pin on the last shot. I thought I had it, but i guess it wasn't meant to be. There is always next week. I will just have to try again. Also, I just bought a new ball. It is an Elite Solar Eclipse. I need to have it drilled and hope to have it for Tuesday. I will let you know how I like it when I throw my first game with it.
Well, 2 nights in a row I just missed a perfect game. On Wednesdat 2/28, in game 3, I had the first 10 and then left a 7 pin on a pocket, (I'm right handed), finished with 289, and shot a 674 series. I struggled the first 2 games. Then on Thursday 3/1, I picked a spare shot on the first frame of game 3 and then threw the next 11 to finish with 279, and finished with a 746 series. They are the breaks of the game. You have to take the good with the bad.
